About
Nestled between two wooded ridges, where the Arguenon and the Rosette meet, the town of Jugon-les-Lacs lies beside a large lake. Nature and heritage come together here. The lake draws anglers, water sports fans and birdwatchers, with birds present in winter and summer alike. “Qui a Bretagne sans Jugon a chape sans chaperon” (whoever holds Brittany without Jugon has a cape without a hood): the motto attributed to Du Guesclin recalls Jugon’s role as a stronghold, like Moncontour, defending Lamballe, capital of the duchy of Penthièvre. The loop is 3 km long, with 28 m of ascent; allow about 1 hour of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the car park on rue du Bocage, in Jugon-les-Lacs. The official route, published by the Côtes-d’Armor département and updated on 11 September 2026, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
