About

This Piré-Chancé path partly follows the Quincampoix and reveals the natural riches of the area, with an optional detour through the grounds of the Château des Pères. Near the cemetery, the Croix-Bouessée chapel, “surrounded by box trees”, dates from 1527; it is said to have protected the inhabitants from the plague in the 17th century. The path passes Berrue and its longhouses, crosses the Quincampoix, then goes through Lézé, where you can see old pigsties. Along the river, a remarkable oak and Highland cattle keep you company at the end of the walk. The route is 7.7 km long; allow about 1 h 55 of walking. Start: Rue de Boistrudan, in Piré-Chancé. The official route, published by Pays de Châteaugiron Communauté, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
