About
Starting from the square in Mériadec, in Pluneret, this trail crosses the countryside along sunken lanes and beside the Léran river. The Léran valley keeps a discreet set of small heritage features: a wash house, a calvary and springs. The route crosses the village of Guern Boulard, then Kerhouarn with its thatched cottages and longhouses, before taking the Sainte-Anne to Vannes greenway. On the way back, the church square recalls Saint Mériadec, bishop of Vannes in the 5th century, and the old Roman road from Vannes to Quimper that ran through the village, long known for its horse fair. The loop is 5.7 km long; allow about 1 h 15 of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the village square in Mériadec, in Pluneret. The waymarking is yellow. The official route, published by Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
