About
At Kerveguenet, near Brennilis, the Youdig inn stands at the foot of the Monts d’Arrée, on the edge of the Yeun Elez. This vast peat marsh has fed many legends: the Celts placed the entrance to the otherworld here, Christians the gates of hell, and Bretons the Youdig, the “little porridge” that boils at the bottom of the marsh. The house speciality is kig ha farz, the Léon stew with its buckwheat pudding, which takes five hours to prepare. You eat it in a dining room of old stones and antique furniture. The inn also serves crêpes, pork with apples and chouchen. The Youdig is a place apart: an inn, a museum of legends and korrigans, holiday cottages and a large hall for parties. Storytelling evenings about the legends of the mountains are held regularly.
