About
The Rodaven campsite is on chemin de la Vallée de l’Aulne, in Châteaulin, beside the Nantes to Brest canal. The car-free towpath can be followed on foot, by bike or on horseback all the way to the ocean. The campsite belongs to the commune and is run by the Night & Day brand. Over nearly 3 hectares, it has 45 pitches with electricity and 37 unserviced pitches, each marked out by low hedges. Mobile homes with 2 or 3 bedrooms, two canvas tents and “baroudeur” tents on stilts for two can be rented. A play area, a trampoline, pétanque, a grocery and a motorhome service area are on site. The canal is also good for canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding: its boat chutes make it “the biggest water slide in the Finistère”, and a 23 km route links Châteaulin to Pleyben. In summer, the town puts on concerts, storytelling walks and picnics by the canal. Nearby, you can visit Le Faou, about 20 minutes by car (19 km), and Locronan, about 24 minutes by car (18 km).
