About
Starting from the old Châteaulin station, on the Pleyben road, this trail links two historic routes: the railway and the canal. The route follows the old Châteaulin to Carhaix railway line, then the towpath along the Aulne, on the Nantes to Brest canal. You walk both where the locomotives ran and where the horses that pulled the boats once trod. The loop is 5.8 km long; allow about 1 h 25 of walking. Start: the old Châteaulin station car park, route de Pleyben. The official route, published by the Pleyben-Châteaulin-Porzay community of communes, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
