About
Le Rocher Portail was built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries for Gilles Ruellan, an important figure of the reign of Henri IV. The château has kept much of its architectural consistency and decoration. Long a private residence, it has furnished rooms, outbuildings, moats and gardens that show the lifestyle of a great estate at the end of the Renaissance. In recent years, the estate has developed the Château des Sorciers, an immersive experience with actors, sets, games, a forbidden forest, tree-top adventure, an aviary, food and evening packages. It is worth distinguishing the historic heritage from the entertainment. In 2026, the main opening periods of the Château des Sorciers include the spring holidays, 25 July to 22 August and 16 October to 1 November.
