About

The story of the Château de Josselin begins around the year 1000. The site was deeply shaped in the 14th century by Olivier de Clisson, then by the Rohan family, who made it one of their great residences. On the river side, the tall towers give the image of a fortress. On the courtyard side, the carved granite facade from the late 15th and early 16th centuries is one of the masterpieces of the Breton Renaissance. The interiors are furnished and decorated, with several visit options. The gardens, old kitchens, saddlery and the Doll and Toy Museum complete the visit. In 2026, the estate is open every day from 4 April to 1 November, 11 am to 6 pm.
