About

Radenac evokes a stretch of ferns; it is also the birthplace of Jean Robic, winner of the 1947 Tour de France. This trail follows the memory of a little train. At the start, the Radenac pond, created in 1995 over three hectares, is bordered by the Evel. The Lambily woods once led workers to the Lanouée forges. You then follow the old line from Moulin-Gilet to Ploërmel, opened in 1902 and closed at the end of 1938 after a derailment. After the Réguiny pond and the Saint-Mathurin cross, the sand pits are home to swallows from April to August. The 14th century Saint-Fiacre chapel, in granite and red sandstone, is unusual in having two naves and two choirs. The loop is 12 km long; allow about 3 hours of walking. The stated level is moderate. Start: the Radenac pond. The official route, published by Pontivy Communauté, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone. The route is listed in the département’s official walking route plan (PDIPR).
