About
In the hamlet of La Pierre, just outside Crédin, lies the Bois du Couëdic, a natural setting ideal for a family walk. The Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul church, built in 1902, can be recognised from afar by its slender outline. The wood was part of the estate of the Château du Couëdic, dating from 1747: many paths criss-cross it, including the fine beech avenue leading to the clearing where local traders gathered every 14 July. The way back passes a large mission cross reinstalled in 1945 at the edge of the wood. The loop is 4.5 km long; allow about 1 h 10 of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the church in Crédin. The official route, published by Pontivy Communauté, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone. The route is listed in the département’s official walking route plan (PDIPR).
