About
The Cabanes de Quénécan are among the most coherent nature stays in inland Brittany. They stand in the vast forest of Quénécan, right next to the Forges des Salles, Lake Guerlédan and the Abbaye de Bon-Repos. The offer combines treehouses, reached by walkways and sometimes perched more than eight metres up, and cabins on stilts by the Fourneau pond. Some nestle in the branches of century-old oaks, where you can watch forest wildlife at dawn. The estate also has more classic gîtes for travellers who want more comfort. The tourist office mentions capacities of up to seven people depending on the unit, terraces, linen provided, picnic baskets and many activities nearby: hiking, fishing, swimming, horse riding and water sports. The surrounding area is exceptional for a stay of two or three nights: four walking circuits in the forest, the Mission Quénécan game around the former ironworks village, cycling along the canals, the Abbaye de Bon-Repos and Lake Guerlédan.
