About
From Silfiac, which rises to 270 m, this trail enters the Quénécan forest through the Bois du Squel, on the Morbihan uplands. The Saint-Laurent chapel, a little 15th century masterpiece, shelters a rare spring dedicated to Saint Nodez, reputed to cure foot complaints. Near Le Fouillé, a fine sunken lane recalls the days of the charcoal burners. The 16th century Saint-Guérec spring has been rebuilt three times by local people. The Bois du Squel forms the southern part of the Quénécan massif, more than 3,000 hectares. In the village of Mangoirec, in Séglien, a commune awarded the “patrimoine rural de Bretagne” label, there are stone houses and a wash house. The loop is 15 km long; allow about 3 h 45 of walking. The stated level is moderate. Start: the Saint-Laurent chapel, in Silfiac. The official route, published by Pontivy Communauté, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone. The route is listed in the département’s official walking route plan (PDIPR).
