About
The Péniche Orphée is one of the most complete floating homes in inland Brittany. Moored at the Tertraie lock in Forges de Lanouée, it was fully renovated in 2020 and offers about 70 m² of living space. The gîte has two separate cabins, one with a 140 cm bed and the other with a 160 cm bed, as well as a living room with a 140 sofa bed, a full kitchen and a shower room with WC. Its official Gîtes de France capacity is six people. A wood stove heats the space in winter and a large terrace sits on the roof. Four bikes are available, including an electric one with some offers. The boat is rented at the quay, with running water, heating and electricity. Sheets, towels, linen, utilities and cleaning are included. In 2026, the official website listed 380 € for one night, 420 € for two, 480 € for three nights, 680 € a week in low season and 760 € in high season. The stay is strongly discouraged for young children or people who cannot swim.
