About
Pentrez is Saint-Nic’s great iconic beach. Very large, it opens wide onto the bay of Douarnenez and reveals a huge expanse of sand at low tide. The town presents it as a beach where you can swim safely and enjoy many water and land activities, especially sand yachting and kite flying. In July and August, the Finistère fire and rescue service provides lifeguards in the afternoon, with the first-aid post open from 1.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Bathing water quality results are posted at the entrances to the site. The width and evenness of the beach also make it very photogenic, especially during spring tides and under the changing skies of the bay of Douarnenez. Water and land activities are regulated by local orders, as is access for dogs and horses, so check the rules before you visit.
