About
Rated difficult, this long loop sets off from the Sainte-Marie du Menez-Hom chapel and climbs to the top of the “mountain”, the Yed, at 330 m. A path under the pines and then 2.4 km of heather moorland lead close to the summit. The GR de Pays around the Crozon peninsula takes you to the Yed and its 360° view. The descent passes Coathérel and Kergoat Côme, with an optional detour to the Chapelle-Neuve spring, then the Menez-Lié dolmen and Penfrout, from where a 400 m detour leads to the Saint-Suliau chapel. The loop is 17.8 km long; allow about 4 h 25 of walking. Start: the car park before the Sainte-Marie du Menez-Hom chapel, in Plomodiern. The official route, published by the Pleyben-Châteaulin-Porzay community of communes, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
