About
Ramonette is the closest beach to Le Palais, on Belle-Île-en-Mer. It faces the mainland and opens due east, giving it excellent sunshine from morning to late afternoon in summer. Its sand is pale and fine at the top of the beach, then coarser on the slope at low tide. To the left, a small cave and a jutting rock form a secondary cove that gives the site a lot of character. Ramonette also has real seaside history: in the past, the well-to-do families of Le Palais set up many bathing huts at the top of the beach and even on the grass. The 2026 water monitoring listed it as an unsupervised, equipped site, closed to animals, with no shower, no drinking water, no toilets, no first-aid post and no wheelchair access. Recent results are excellent. Being so close to Le Palais makes it an excellent car-free beach, but it calls for independence and care.
