About
Suscinio beach is on the Atlantic side of Sarzeau, at the foot of a vast dune ridge and right next to the Domaine de Suscinio, a former residence of the Dukes of Brittany. The tourist office describes a bay about three kilometres long, sheltered from some winds by the Beg Lann cove, with a coastal path leading to the chapel of Penvins. The 2026 health monitoring rates the water quality as excellent. However, Suscinio is not a lifeguarded beach: the official 2026 records describe it as a non-lifeguarded, equipped site, closed to animals, with toilets but no shower, no drinking water, no first aid post and no wheelchair access. The town of Sarzeau focuses its summer lifeguards on Landrezac, Penvins, Saint-Jacques and Roaliguen. Think of Suscinio as a big natural and historic beach, ideal for a castle and coast day, where you swim at your own risk.
