About
Rural and maritime landscapes share this walk from the centre of Plouër-sur-Rance. Sunken lanes, small roads and hamlets with the traditional architecture of the Rance shores set the pace. The trail first reaches the shores of the tidal Rance, sometimes running along the water’s edge, sometimes higher up. Along the foreshore or on the coastal path, the view takes in this vast stretch of water. The walk then climbs back up and returns to the village through the hamlets. The loop is 10.6 km long, with 222 m of ascent; allow about 4 hours of walking. The stated level is medium. Start: near the post office, in the centre of Plouër-sur-Rance. The official route, published by the Côtes-d’Armor département and updated on 11 September 2026, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone. The route also appears in the “Balades et randonnées” guidebook by Dinan Agglomération, on sale at the Dinan Cap Fréhel Tourisme information offices.
