About
This walk follows the Étel river, a sea inlet with picturesque scenery, then the shores of the Sac’h, one of the ria’s many arms. From Port-Niscop you can admire the Lorois bridge, completed in 1841 and destroyed twice, the only crossing between the two shores of the ria. The coastal path passes the Pointe de Royanec and the Pointe de Roquenec to the Bignac tide mill, built around 1856. It then climbs along the pond and heathland of Bignac, a Natura 2000 site where the viviparous eryngo grows, an extremely rare plant whose only known site in France is here. The loop is 6.8 km long; allow about 1 h 30 of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the Port-Niscop car park, in Belz. The waymarking is yellow. The official route, published by Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
