About
Benoît beach lies at the western end of the great bay of La Baule, just before the inlet and the port of Le Pouliguen. The tourist office describes it as family-friendly and peaceful, with an open view over the whole bay. Its fine sand, wide gently sloping beach and quieter surroundings set it apart from central La Baule. The Esplanade Benoît is a much-loved pedestrian promenade that makes it easy to walk to Le Pouliguen. The bay is fairly sheltered from the swell and shallow, especially at Benoît. The beach is lifeguarded in July and August, with its own first-aid post. The official 2026 water monitoring ran from 10 June to 15 September and rated the water excellent. The site has showers, drinking water, toilets, a first-aid post and wheelchair access. Dogs are banned from 15 June to 15 September. Shore fishing is popular at low tide, but in 2026 some restrictions still applied to oysters, mussels and cockles after a temporary health ban, so always check the current orders before collecting anything.
