About
Between La Trinité-sur-Mer and Carnac, two small parallel valleys have been put to various uses, first salt pans and then oyster farming. Today they are wetlands to be protected. At the Men Du car park, the cove shelters an islet linked to the mainland by a strip of sand, a tombolo. The Pointe de Kerdual has an archaeological site threatened by rising seas, with submerged menhirs. The Kerdual marsh, worked as salt pans from the 17th century until 1962, is crossed by a central path. After the Kercado ridge and its restored farms, the path follows the Quéric-Kerdual marsh, a refuge for seabirds and waders, before crossing the Poulbert. The loop is 5.8 km long; allow about 1 h 30 of walking. The stated level is easy. Start: the Men Du car park, avenue de la Baie, in La Trinité-sur-Mer. The waymarking is green. The official route, published by Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique, is shown on the map and can be downloaded as a GPX file to follow on your phone.
