About
On a street in Saint-Malo Intra-Muros, Betton Fils welcomes food lovers in a stone building with a truly Saint-Malo spirit. Chef Victor Betton does not try to recreate a grand restaurant. His idea is livelier: generous bistro cooking inspired by French classics, but worked with the precision and curiosity of a demanding training, which took him to great houses and the Élysée Palace. Seasonal produce is central. The restaurant sources within a radius of about fifty kilometres and excludes meats with a high carbon footprint. This narrows the choices and means looking at what fishermen, market gardeners and producers can offer today, so the menu moves with the catch. You come for the warmth of the place and cooking that combines character and finesse. Attention to wine and the welcome completes a meal that suits a lunch break or an evening in the corsair city, with the ramparts, the lanes and the sea a few minutes’ walk away.
