What to do in Quimper when it rains
The Musée départemental breton, the Cathédrale Saint-Corentin, faience workshops and the Halles Saint-François: our ideas for a rainy day in Quimper, and what is closed.
4 min read
Quimper has its indoor visits, but you need to know which ones are open: the Musée des Beaux-Arts is closed for renovation, and the Musée de la Faïence only opens to the public from April to September.
The Musée départemental breton
In the former bishops’ palace, at the foot of the cathedral, it tells the story of Brittany through its costumes, furniture and faience, with activities for children during the holidays.
The cathedral and the faience workshops
The Cathédrale Saint-Corentin, with its off centre choir and its stained glass, can be visited in any weather. The town’s faience workshops, where painting is still done freehand, open their doors to visitors.
