What to do in Quimper during the All Saints’ holidays
The Cathédrale Saint-Corentin, the old town, faience, the Halles Saint-François, Locronan and Concarneau: our ideas for the 2026 All Saints’ holidays in Quimper.
7 min read
The 2026 All Saints’ holidays run from Saturday 17 October to Monday 2 November, for all three zones at once. Quimper is the capital of Cornouaille, a human scale city of art, and the best base for trips to Locronan, Concarneau and the Pointe du Raz.

The cathedral and the old town
The Cathédrale Saint-Corentin, with its off centre choir and its 19th century spires, towers over the half timbered lanes of the Saint-Corentin district. The flower decked footbridges over the Odet and the Steir make a lovely walk, even in drizzle.

Faience and the market halls
Quimper has been painting faience since the late 17th century, and its workshops can be visited. The Halles Saint-François, open every day, are the covered market in the centre, and the big Steir market livens up Saturday morning. The Musée des Beaux-Arts is closed for renovation: ask about its reopening.
Locronan and Concarneau
Locronan, twenty minutes away, is one of the most beautiful villages in France, with its cobbled square and granite houses. Concarneau and its Ville Close, half an hour away, can be visited in any weather, with the Musée de la Pêche on board a trawler.
