Sleep and dine with a Michelin star: gourmet hotels

The best gourmet dinner is the one after which you do not have to get back in the car. In Brittany, several great restaurants have rooms. Every one on this list holds a Michelin star.

Two stars

In Plomodiern, between the Menez-Hom and the Bay of Douarnenez, the Auberge des Glazicks is a family house founded in 1870: only eight rooms, and Olivier Bellin’s two star restaurant. In La Plaine-sur-Mer, Anne de Bretagne, a 15 room Relais & Châteaux facing the ocean, also holds two stars.

One star, facing the sea

The Manoir de Lan-Kerellec, in Trébeurden, looks out over the islands of the Pink Granite Coast. The Hostellerie de la Pointe Saint-Mathieu serves Nolwenn Corre’s cooking facing the lighthouse. In Carantec, the Hôtel de Carantec overlooks the Bay of Morlaix with Nicolas Carro’s restaurant. In Roscoff, the Brittany & Spa is home to Nori, and in Dinard, Castelbrac hosts Pourquoi Pas. In Sainte-Marine, the Villa Tri Men has Les Trois Rochers as its restaurant, on the banks of the Odet.

One star, in the countryside

In the Brière, Éric Guérin’s La Mare aux Oiseaux has suites on stilts on the Île de Fédrun. In Plouider, La Butte combines a Michelin starred restaurant, a bistro and 32 rooms. At the Domaine de Locguénolé, L’Inattendu is run by Yann Maget, Meilleur Ouvrier de France. In Guer, Maison Tiegezh has only six rooms around Baptiste Denieul’s restaurant. At the Domaine du Château des Pères, L’EssenCiel offers suspended rooms near La Table des Pères.

Near the cities

South of Nantes, the Abbaye de Villeneuve is home to the Michelin starred Le 1201. In Vannes, the Domaine du Liziec has its Table du Liziec, also starred. In Carnac, the Hôtel Lann Roz hosts Côté Cuisine, a Michelin starred restaurant in a 14 room hotel.
