Hotels with a spa and thalassotherapy in Brittany

Brittany is one of the homelands of thalassotherapy: seawater, seaweed and the climate are treatments in their own right. There are two kinds of hotel. Those linked to a real thalassotherapy centre, with courses of treatment and seawater pools, and those with a more intimate spa, for a break of a few hours.

The large thalassotherapy centres

The largest is at the Sofitel Quiberon Thalassa: a 6,000 m² institute with a 25 metre seawater pool, at the tip of the peninsula. In Saint-Malo, the Grand Hôtel des Thermes looks straight onto the Sillon, with a seawater pool at 30 °C. In Dinard, EMERIA offers more than 2,800 m² of treatments and 58 treatment rooms, facing the sea. In Carnac, Thalazur Les Salines is linked to a 2,500 m² marine centre in the middle of the salt marshes.

On the north coast, the Spa Marin du Val André keeps a seawater pool at 32 °C facing the beach, and Roz Marine looks out over Trestraou beach in Perros-Guirec. In Roscoff, the Valdys Beau Rivage hotel is linked to the thalassotherapy centre, facing the Île de Batz, with seawater at 31 °C. In the south, Miramar La Cigale in Arzon, Alliance Pornic facing the Plage de la Source and the Château des Tourelles in Pornichet complete the list, as does the Concarneau resort facing the Sables Blancs. On Belle-Île, Castel Clara has a 1,200 m² centre above the Anse de Goulphar.

More intimate spas

At the end of the world, the Hostellerie de la Pointe Saint-Mathieu, facing the lighthouse and the abbey, hides a 450 m² spa with a flotation pool. In Locquirec, the Grand Hôtel des Bains has an indoor saltwater pool at 29 °C. In Billiers, the Domaine de Rochevilaine has a marine spa of around 1,300 m² on its peninsula. In Audierne, Maison Le Goyen combines a spa and an indoor pool with its view of the harbour. In Saint-Malo, the Grand Hôtel de Courtoisville has a pool at 30 °C a stone’s throw from the Sillon.
